Mc angel

It’s always a pleasure making art for fellow artists. This was commissioned by a friend of the very talented MC Angel. I used symbolic representation of her values and her own lyrics to make this portrait.

Check out her spoken word poetry here:

Something bitter

Craving something bitter

Sugar coats never seemed that sweet to me, eventually, I’ll look past the disguise and see, what was meant to be…
There’s always something more, behind what we hide, always a silver lining, our pride forces us to deny, although reality might not be your cup of tea, it will always be mine. So say it straight, hit me with the punchline, but spare me the white lies.

I want to see the light, even if it hurts my eyes. Because I would rather look for beauty in the ugliest truth. Than look for truth, in the most beautiful lie.

Aphrodite

“The force that unites the elements to become all things is Love, also called Aphrodite; Love brings together dissimilar elements into a unity, to become a composite thing. Love is the same force that human beings find at work in themselves whenever they feel joy, love and peace. Strife, on the other hand, is the force responsible for the dissolution of the one back into its many, the four elements of which it was composed.”

concrete jungle

In this capitalist climate, where you’re only as good as the goods and services you provide, the way you’re taught to market yourself is often mistaken for a personality… When really, we’re all just products of the massive factory our environment has become…put some pretty packaging on, and hope you fit in with the rest of the breathing statistics.
It is, however, what it is… Get lost, or get with it… At least that what they tell us.
When they can’t see what propells us. They’ll say we’re headstrong and overzealous…but the sad fact is that, living or loving freely in this mad factory, will leave you labelled as rebellious…

Naked

Optimism, the stunning dress that accentuates her curves, the make-up that brings out her best features, a mask to hide all her beautiful flaws…

Pessimism
, the comfy outfit that makes it look like she didn’t try, the dark shades that cover the sparkle in her eyes, the thick blanket in a gloomy slumber. a dark cloak to cower under…

Realism
, the very skin she was born in, the way she is and not the way she wants to be seen, no clothes, jewelry, shoes or belts. nothing, but a naked reflection of her true self.

Be

Individual battles that rattle our collective mind, painfully breathtaking, left us shaking, soaked in emotion, barely coping, hoping, floating, in an ocean of negativity. We dread…

Inactivity, from A will once strong, that now seems so tender. We grow colder as sin sits on our shoulders and urges us to surrender…
Our pride,

We do our best to hide fears, we dry tears, with lies…we flee from the now, and run rings round our own eyes… Somewhere in the miserable circles we see, we’ve forgotten how, to just be…
Free.

With our feelings, and thoughts. so anxious, to spend all the time we bought, we waste what little we have left. A twisted self-theft that leaves our true selfs on the bottom shelf. And our broke hearts in dept. we seek…
Verve.

To regrow the nerve,  to learn how, to just do,  without knowing exactly how…  to just be, and appreciate the unrivaled excellence, of now.

Beautiful Struggle

so much beauty…you would struggle to see, but be left in awe once you saw it… I watched myself profit from my plummet…

Encouraged  by contagiously courageous condemnation,  inspired by painstakingly painful perspicacity…

What gave me the audacity, to stay, to face it… I had to face it, I could never escape it, through empty glasses, or an overflowing ash tray…the storm always passes, to reveal evermore joyous days…

beautiful cliches, describe all the romantic realizations… I struggle to say…

What gave me the grace, to stay…grateful, humble…to seek not trouble, when I stumbled, to burst only the bubbles, that confined I… My life-style has been ruled by error and trail, so my eye, must Seek truth, until ONE can no longer hide behind Denial…

I changed my mind to find;

The true intentions behind ,the whimsical lies of life, the tranquil amidst the turmoil, the strength in each stumble, the air within the bubble, the relics among the rubble…all that is beautiful within, my struggle

The mad men I met

I met  preacher man, who would twist his own philosophy, purposely, to make short term profit off a long term prophecy.

I met a bunch of bankers ,that toppled the economy

I met a politician, with his vision, so impaired, he was unaware, of his hypocrisy, trying to force democracy, using guns and bureaucracy

Hell…I even met a martyr with a life insurance policy…

Q and I

Your question; Is to have had and lost, better than not having at all?
My answer;

He who has had and lost has gained perspective, worth more than his initial possession.
Regret and loss do not necessarily come hand in hand. Regret is the desire for what could have been, or what was, so it is–must be those who have never had, and those who have regressed with the most regrets.
Not every loss is a regression, yet some may progress with regrets, but my response may well be of no use to you, as this is a truth, only observed from my point of view…

Oops! ….I’m talking to my self again.
